Sitting on a sled at the top of a hill in the late summer will not make the snow come more quickly, nor will watering a seed in the ground make the oak tree appear more rapidly, nor will opening a chrysalis help the butterfly emerge more quickly. We know this. You don't really need me to tell you.
But we often forget this in our own process. We want definitive results long before we have learned how to add and subtract and we want wings long before we learn how to walk, let alone run. Our lives are a process of growth, sometimes slowly, sometimes in greater spurts, but immediate growth all the way takes place for no one. Remember how long Olympic contenders train and practice. Remember how long a concert pianist has lessons and endless hours of practice. So too, it is with the evolution of our selves throughout the course of our lives.
Nietzsche put it beautifully: He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying.
Let's love ourselves enough to give ourselves time to learn how to stand and walk and run and climb and dance before we fly ... but let's definitely not stop until we do know how to fly!
For more about learning how to evolve and learning how to fly, taking charge of your thoughts and emotions and about the self-transformational process - both in your outer life in the world, and in your inner life with your connection to your inner, divine self, have a look at my book Rewiring the Soul: Finding the Possible Self
