Your Own Way

I imagine most people would like to 'do their thing'. And I know that most people do not. Economic, social and health exigencies - to name only a few - are generally what prevent them from doing their own thing. If you have to put food on the table and pay the rent, and in order to do so you have to be an accountant instead of a painter, or a teacher instead of a tennis star, then - if you accept life's responsibilities - that is what you will do.

So how can you live life your own way? How can you do your own thing? What I'm about to say is not a secret, and yet for most people it might as well be the best-kept secret of our global society. Living your life your own way has much to do with how you use your thoughts and the feelings that arise from those thoughts.

If you're stuck in a job you don't like or a life style that is not what you would have hoped for, while you are in the stage where you plan to make some changes (if you are not in such a stage, and yet don't like your life, or parts of it, then you might consider moving yourself into such a planning stage), you absolutely need to be fully aware of your thoughts at all times. It is with your thoughts about not only the life you are currently living, but also about the one you would prefer - as well as about how you deal with those moments of your current life that you can in fact, do something about, that you can live your life in your own way. It was Christopher Morley who wrote: There is only one success - to spend your life in your own way.

You may not be able to spend all your waking hours your own way, but you are able to decide how you think about all your waking hours and about what you do with all those waking hours. Your thoughts can permit you to live your own way. Not by deluded fantasizing, but by recognizing that how you think about what is current in your life, means that you are the one who decides how it will be lived, even if you are fulfilling duties you would prefer not to. It is your inner life that decides how much of your outer life is lived in your own way. And only you can make that happen.

What are you doing with your thoughts today?

For more inspiration about how to deal with your thoughts no matter what the circumstances, about making choices, finding meaning in your life, about being aware of your thoughts and feelings, how you react to others and how you love yourself, as well as about choosing to seek your inner well-being above all, in order that you may have a ripple effect on all those who come in contact with you, have a look at my book Rewiring the Soul: Finding the Possible Self, available at Amazon.

Review From Amazon:

"The Soul doesn't get sick but it does need nourishment; if not it seems as if our life starves to death. This wonderful book by Dr. Gabriella Kortsch is definitely healthy "Soul food". It becomes clear that as the personality endeavors to "rewire" the Soul, it is its own energy or conscious awareness that is elevated to that higher level where the invisible becomes visible and experienced as peace, joy, love and freedom. A treat to enjoy and celebrate."
ERIC ROLF; author, Soul Medicine: The Heart of Healing

"Rewiring the Soul is a thoughtful guide to the peace and joy that self-government through inner awareness brings. In the words of author Gabriella Kortsch, anyone's ideal 'possible human' becomes their actual reality by following the simple inner steps in this remarkable book."
JIM WAWRO; author, Ask Your Inner Voice

"This book is a gift to humanity, a valuable tool in aiding seekers to accomplish mastery of their own lives. Gabriella Kortsch provides clear steps to help people find peace in a practical and powerful way. She does not ask you to give up anything other then what no longer serves you. Brilliantly written!"
HILLARY RAIMO; Author & Radio Host

"I thought I could pick just one chapter to write a review, but I couldn't .... I was glued to the chair as I read Rewiring the Soul ... a literary, in-depth masterpiece to the human psyche, behavior and ultimate transformation. Exquisitely written, beautifully executed."
ALI R. RODRIGUEZ, Business Coach, co-author, Mastering the Art of Success
