The Pearl Principle

I'm currently spending some days in the UAE, in Dubai, and leafing through The Sand Fish, a book by a local author, I was reminded of the area's pearl fishing origins (that lasted well over a thousand years until the onset of the Depression and the advent of artificial pearls necessitated a casting about for another means of survival ... ). And thinking about those pearls, I remembered this:
No inner irritation
No Pearl.
